Michael Korth

Michael Korth studied ethnomusicology at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He is an expert on the music of the Middle Ages and editor of works by its great poet-singers. His 48 books to date, stage works and sound recordings cover a wide range of cultural-historical topics and have been translated into 16 languages. With his Bären Gässlin ensemble, he has performed early music throughout Europe. In 2016, he was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honour for services to the Province of Lower Austria. He lives in the Austrian Waldviertel (Woods Quarter).
