Franz Kamphaus

Bringing Good News to the Poor

Inspirations for the Year of St. Luke

Franz Kamphaus, the long-time Bishop of Limburg, is a masterful preacher. He succeeds in unearthing something new from seemingly well-known biblical texts and making even thorny passages fruitful for surprising insights. In 80 chapters, published here for the first time, he provides insights into the scripture reading – especially from the Gospel of Luke – that are recited on the Sundays and holidays of the reading year (currently from Advent 2021 to autumn 2022). Not only those who preach, teach religion or accompany courses in the faith will find a wealth of inspiration here on the Gospel of Luke as it focuses with special sensitivity on women and compassion. In addition, this book offers extraordinary spiritual impulses for the personal spiritual reading – as well as for faith expressed in everyday life.
